I absolutely love this shop. Over time I have ordered a mug rug, embroidered towels, notebook cover, rope basket, trivets, etc. Everything is just as lovely in person as it is online. You can see the love that is put into every item made. I will be ordering again. ❤️

I have looked through this site a lot and with so many beautiful items it is hard to decide what exactly to purchase. However, I was happy to see some cardinal items as my mother loves cardinals. I look forward to ordering some of my Christmas gifts from this shop.

Hi there! I’m Karen — welcome to my creative corner!
I’m the maker behind The Crafty Cottage Studio, where I handmake items, including embroidered kitchen towels, mug rugs, rope bowls, trivets, jelly roll rugs and other home décor gifts that add warmth, charm, and a personal touch to your space.
My love for sewing started back in 1995 when my parents, older sister and myself went to Lancaster, Pa and visited the Amish town with all their homemade quilts. I made quilts up until 2018 when we retired and downsized. I always loved embroidery and it’s now grown into a full-time passion. I enjoy making pieces that make everyday life a little brighter. I’m inspired by cozy kitchens, seasonal color palettes, and those small handmade details that make a house feel like home.
Each item in my shop is carefully handcrafted, not mass-produced — from sourdough-themed embroidery to zodiac-inspired designs, rope bowls, jelly roll rugs and seasonal holiday décor. Every piece is made with care, creativity, and a love for meaningful details that last.
I believe home décor should be both beautiful and functional, whether it’s a gift for a friend, a special accent for your kitchen, or something that just makes you smile every time you see it.
